I was listening to This American Life today and thought I would share a piece of the action with you all. The espiode the talking about meeting someone who does your hobby for a living (ie. a pro). It covered people meeting professional gamblers to Martha Steward to basketball stars. The part that really [...] As you can see, I’m moving slowly through the conference. I’m doing this for a few reasons: one, it allows to me process the information before I blog; two, it fills up multiple days; and three, it give you all the opportunity to see, read and comment on the particular session or workshop. [...] The workshops and break out sessions are one of the best things about the LTTG conference. I was unable to attend all the workshops due to physics and having to lead two of them. Luckily most of the workshops where recorded as an audio file and will be posted online once the quality [...] Over the next few days I will be posting my comments and thoughts about the different issues raised at the 2007 LTTG Environmental Stewardship Conference. Audio files of the [...] Walking back into the fray, I noticed something very interesting… while the table saw I came home was not the one I had picked out, it was a good one. In fact, the table on the saw was larger – 42”x19” vs 26”x19”. The quality also seemed to be higher then the others [...] Hippies, nudists, atheists & us… That may sounds like a big off, but that is what happened this past weekend at the Hyde Park Street Fair here in Boise. First a little back ground. The North End of Boise is a unique neighborhood full of hippies, yuppies, and all kinds of nature [...] Golf. Not the kind with windmills and pretty designs – but the ‘real’ kind with fairways, tees, and greens. That is what I’m talking about… For years I’ll made fun of golfers for spending hours running around a green field catching a little while ball. It didn’t make sense to me why [...] Monday morning – I drive into town with a slight smile on my face. Thou I wish I could of stayed home all weekend, I was on an errand to overcome my dreaded enemy and finally get some work done. Going first to Home Depot to exchange a window for a larger [...] All I wanted was a table saw – that’s right, a simple, fairly inexpensive table saw that I could use while working on the basement. As with most things dealing with “The Basement”, it wasn’t that simple… The journey begins many months ago once I decided to buy a table saw (why? In writing: the sides and back are cut short while the top is long and streaked. Using gel, I can either spike it up stright or keep it semi-flat, but 'messy'. It's a change after 20 years of the same style. [...] |
